Not for those who are arachnophobic!!!!
Have you ever seen such a thing in your life?! I had NEVER EVER seen this or thought this is what happened with baby spiders. You know my very bad day Thursday?! Well, this nasty creature ended the day with a bang!
Mom and I were sitting in the living room talking and watching tv when she spotted a tiny bug on her arm. She thought it was a baby spider, but wasn't totally sure. We thought nothing about it and I went to the back for something. When I came back mom said, "Jamie...look at that right there. Do you think it's dead?" Of course I didn't think it was dead because it wasn't there just a few minutes before. It was an odd looking spider. Not real big but kinda furry looking. It was almost bed time so we didn't have a lot of lights on in the house. I grabbed mom's shoe and smashed it. I don't have a problem killing spiders, usually. This was not your normal spider, however. When I made contact with the shoe it killed the big spider, yes. BUT NOT THE HUNDREDS OF BABIES! I kid you not! As soon as I smashed the bug babies went EVERYWHERE! So, as fast as I could I took the shoe and hit them. Mom is in the kitchen at this point (no where near the spiders! ha!) looking for windex or something to spray on them to kill them. She found carpet cleaner...non-toxic carpet cleaner to be exact...and I drowned them.
Who knew spiders carried hundreds of babies on their backs?! Not me! Not my mom!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Yes, I unashamedly admit that I'm a Harry Potter fan. I've read the first few books several times now, rereading the series as The Order of the Phoenix, and The Half-Blood Prince came out, and again for The Deathly Hallows. I can honestly say that it's one of the best series I've ever read, right up there (for me anyway) with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Narnia. I commend J.K. Rowling for spinning a wonderful tale of good vs. evil and making you thoroughly fall in love with a great variety of well-rounded characters, indeed with an entire universe. If you've not read the Harry Potter series, don't miss out on some great literature because you think they're childrens' books. They're very well written and thoroughly enjoyable by child and adult alike. Also, if you're a Christian, I beseech you to not believe all the bad press that the Harry Potter series has received from Christian media. At the end of the day, it's fantasy, and it's a classic struggle of good vs. evil in which good must eventually triumph. I almost find myself wishing I'd forget a lot of the story, just so I can go back and reread the entire series yet again! So, from one muggle to another, give Harry Potter a chance. You won't be sorry you did.

My Really Bad Day!
Or maybe I should call it the worst bodily function day ever!
Let's see...where to begin! Bryan and I got back home this afternoon from Granna and Papaw's house. Granna came back with us to help ML get ready for a party she's having at her house Saturday and spend the night with me since Matt won't be home until tomorrow.
Anyway, to the story! :) In the last 2 weeks, Bryan has started gagging himself. Friday night he did it so much he threw up in his bed. Matt and I had to get him up for a bath and wash all of his stuff. I was hoping that would be the last of that. Hope floated out the window! He did it again at my parents house AND AGAIN TODAY! I had just gotten out of the shower when I heard mom say that he had puked. Yes, all over him, the bumper, sheet, blanket, rug, etc! Nevermind that I'm in my robe and have a towel on my head! I'm also not feeling the best because of this stinkin cold.
Fast Forward to dinner! I am feeding Bryan and Simba is sitting next to us begging for food when all of a sudden she decides to scratch her butt on the carpet. Not kidding! So we've had throw up, poop on the carpet and oh yeah...it gets better! After dinner I give Bryan a bath. After the bath we go in his room to get him all ready for bed. I take the towel off of him and he crawls over to the glider where he stands up and pees all over it and the rug!
Needless to say, I haven't had the best day in the world. Even if I felt better it still would have been a crazy day!
I think I'll go blow my nose!

Granna and PaPaw's Clock
We (Jamie and Bryan) are at Granna and PaPaw's house for a few days this week. I'm so thankful we are because we both have colds! (NO fun!) They are doing a great job of taking care of us! :) Matt is in Atlanta for some computer training and we had planned to go to Birmingham to visit the Brandrups and Aunt Lynn, but we got sick. :(
Bryan LOVES this clock. Every time we come over they have to put it up because he wants to pull up on it and it's very wobbly. I laid it on the floor to see what he would do with it and, well...see for yourself below!

11 Months
Well, Bryan is now 11 Months Old! WOW! In one month we'll be celebrating his first year of life! What a wonderful year it has been. We'll talk more about that on his 1 year post!
Just an update on what all is going on with the little man. He has 6 teeth! (The better to bite you with!) He is crawling faster and cruising furniture. Just in the last week he has been pulling up and then letting go for a few seconds. Once he realizes he's standing by himself he sits down or grabs the furniture! :) It's really cute. He can make all kinds of sounds and says mama and dada. Other than that he doesn't say any words.
Bryan loves to eat! He'll eat anything you put in front of him...even when you think he's full! He sleeps great at night and takes 2 naps during the day. YAY! He loves to take a bath and HATES it when you get him out! It's almost impossible to get a diaper on him because he is so upset. Well, it's hard to get a diaper on him ANYTIME because he does not want to lay down!
One of his favorite things, besides Simba, is to pull up rugs. Here he is pulling up the rug in his room:

Meeting Rob
Yes, This is Rob...as in Rob and Amba (I know it's Amber, but I like the way Rob says it). Anyway, This was taken right after they won 2nd place on Amazing Race. Penny and Bruce went to a Procter and Gamble conference where they met them and Uchenna and Joyce (1st place). Anyway, this is a picture of Penny holding up her cell phone for him to leave me a message! YES, Rob called my cell phone and left ME a message! I was freaking out! HA! I think he just said something like, "Hey Jamie! This is Rob and Amber just calling to say hi. Hope you're doing good." Something like that. Too bad cell phones only keep messages for so long! Anyway, thought y'all might like this story!

Prayer Request
My Great Aunt Peeno (grandmother's sister on dad's side) passed away this morning. She was suffering from many ailments and hospice was called in last week. Please pray for her 2 children and the rest of the family as they prepare for a funeral. My dad, for sure, is going, but I'm not sure yet if we'll be able to make it. Many will be traveling so please pray for that too.

Summer Reading
**UPDATE** I finished all of the Firstborn Series by Karen Kingsbury and have started the first book from the next series...Sunrise. They are all good, but I kinda feel like they are dragging on and on!
Many of you know that I was NOT a reader. I used to like reading before it was required in Middle School! :) HA! Anyway, over the last couple of years I discovered a few books that I LOVE! Mom had a few books by Francine Rivers that I picked up and I fell in love with her writing. More than that, I fell in love with the characters. Here are a few that I highly recommend by her:
In the last 3 weeks I have read 7 books! I CAN'T believe that! If you came to our house you would know that I've been doing something besides cleaning! :)
The books have been:
Let me know what your favorite books are or if you've read any of these. I'd love to know your thoughts!

- Redeeming Love
- Let me just say that I cried throughout most of this book! This book, as well as all the rest I'm going to recommend, will make you take a survey of your relationship with Christ. This book is so good it has it's own website! :)
- Mark of the Lion Series
- Talk about characters! You will fall in love with Hadassah and wish you had her faith. These are 3 of my all time favorite books.
- And the Shofar Blew
- The Scarlet Thread
- The Last Sin Eater
- This is a GREAT story that was recently made in to a movie.

The books have been:

- There are 5 books in this one as well. I've only read the first one. They are: Fame, Forgiven, Found, Family, & Forever
Let me know what your favorite books are or if you've read any of these. I'd love to know your thoughts!
