If you are reading this Friday night between 10pm and 12am, turn it to TBN. The full Glory Revealed concert is on! :)

pharyngitis

Little man started getting a fever again yesterday so I called to get him a doctor's appointment before the weekend. We just got home and his diagnosis is pharyngitis. All we were told is that if he gets worse to call back. So for all of your moms out there do you have any suggestions of things I can do for Bryan to help him feel better? (He's taking tylenol and motrin.)

Glory Revealed

First I want to say that Bryan has had a high fever for over 24 hours now, so please keep him in your prayers. He has no other symptoms so it's kind of strange. Anyway, pray with us that it will break soon.

For the last few months I've been listening to the CD Glory Revealed. In case you haven't heard about it, the lyrics are scriptures. I heard Mac Powell (lead singer for Third Day) talking about this CD on the radio so I went out and bought it. It's awesome y'all! After buying the CD I started reading about the project by David Nasser. Here's what it's all about:

"It all kinda started with the Holy Spirit putting in my heart a passion to call a generation back to God's Word," says Evangelist David Nasser of the Glory Revealed project. Wanting to share his vision, Nasser enlisted the help of his good friend, Third Day's Mac Powell. When Nasser called Powell to tell him about a book he was writing, Powell was intrigued. So, the two decided to produce a collection of songs taken directly from scripture, also complimenting the messages Nasser was communicating through each chapter of his book.

Using scripture was key for Powell and Nasser. A primary goal of the Glory Revealed project was to have people hear scripture in the songs and therefore make it part of the fabric of their lives. "What we really wanted from this album was have songs that people could listen to and enjoy, but also have lyrics you could memorize easily," Powell says.

Initially Powell was going to produce the album and leave the bulk of the songwriting to friends he and Nasser were recruiting. Shortly before they went in the studio, however, Powell felt a sudden rush of inspiration. “I wrote five songs in a matter of about two hours, which never happens," says Powell. " To me, it was very evident that the Lord was putting this together. It wasn’t me trying to do this on my own."

Powell and Nasser asked several friends to record the songs for the album. Glory Revealed was a labor of love for all of those involved. A deeply rooted sense of mission and unbridled passion runs through every track. "These songs are very powerful and they come from what we consider the greatest book of all time--something that for thousands of years has changed lives and has brought people hope and faith," says Powell.

Matt and I have also been reading the Glory Revealed book. It's 20 days of how to help see and hear God in everyday situations.
Realizing that sometimes it’s easy to see God’s creation on a "starry night," Nasser also understands that "seeing the evidence of his existence isn’t enough." He wanted the book to help answer hard questions like, "How do I see God when I'm suffering from cancer or when my best friend betrays me?" Nasser used personal experiences, illustrations, and scriptural references to introduce readers to different ways in which God is constantly revealing himself. Reiterating the goal of the Glory Revealed project in his book, Nasser says, “…in no place has He revealed himself more powerfully than through the Word.”

I definitely haven't finished it within 20 days, but I only have 2 lessons left and am excited to finish.

I do not share all of this with you because I want you to buy the book and/or CD (which I'm sure you'd be encouraged by and grow from if you did) but to tell you that I'm planning on going to the Glory Revealed concert Tuesday night in LaGrange, GA!!!!! Matt has to work, so my parents and I, along with Bryan are going. I believe we will get to worship with Mac Powell, Candi Pearson-Shelton (AWESOME voice and sings for Passion), Josh Bates, Brian Littrell (heck yeah...a backstreet boy!), Mark Hall from Casting Crowns, and Shane and Shane.

(I'm not sure if everyone on the CD tours since many have their own tours, but I will definitely let you know!)

Do any of you have this CD or book? What do you think about it?

Never try this at home, by the way. You can pretty much guarantee that the drive will be trashed when you're done.

Phenix City Visit

Bryan and I went to Phenix City on Thursday because construction was starting in our laundry room on Friday. I didn't want either of us to be in the house where mold was flying, but we ended up with colds anyway!

The weather has been kinda nice the last couple of days so I took Bryan outside to walk in the grass. (He's trying to walk more and more daily!) He took about 2 steps and sat down. After he touched the grass he decided he didn't want to touch it at all! Mom took this picture and I'm so glad she did because it was too hilarious to not have on camera!

Go Jackets!

I'm so proud of my Yellow Jackets from Georgia Tech. They beat the stank out of Notre Dame today, 33 to 3. And it was really worse than that score showed. Here's what I mean: Georgia Tech had 260 rushing yards (196 by Trashard Choice) and Notre Dame had -9. It was ugly. And I loved every minute of it, especially because it was Notre Dame.

Welcome to the World!

Aubrey Elaine Pfaender was born yesterday weighing 7lbs 13oz and was 20" long! Congratulations to John and Trish! (And of course to Mr. Jerry, Mrs. Ruth, and Aunt Gina!) She is beautiful!
