I Saw What I Saw

Here's a beautiful song by Sara Groves.

I saw what I saw and I can't forget it
I heard what I heard and I can't go back
I know what I know and I can't deny it

Something on the road, cut me to the soul

Your pain has changed me
your dream inspires
your face a memory
your hope a fire
your courage asks me what I'm afraid of
(what I am made of)
and what I know of love

we've done what we've done and we can't erase it
we are what we are and it's more than enough
we have what we have but it's no substitution

Something on the road, touched my very soul

I say what I say with no hesitation
I have what I have and I'm giving it up
I do what I do with deep conviction

Something on the road, changed my world

New House

We found a house we love! If everything goes smoothly with the closing on our house, we'll close the following day on our Birmingham house. Here's a picture of the outside:

It's brand new construction so we'll be the first to live in it! It's a very open floor plan, which I've always wanted. The living room has very white carpet right now and has 3 entrances from the outside. (not smart planning!) So in our contract we added to have hardwoods put down in the living room, kitchen, and dining room. They said they would! :)

Here's the view from the dining area into the kitchen and living room: (that's our realtor, Leigh)

Pleasant Surprise

Yesterday I got a phone call from Trish saying she and Aubrey were in town! It was a wonderful surprise. I hadn't seen them since Aubrey was 3 weeks old and she's a week away from being 6 months old. She is the sweetest baby I've ever met and soooooo content with life. :) Trish, you are doing a wonderful job at mommyhood. I'm so glad you came to visit yesterday.

on our way

matt and I are in the car on our way to Birmingham this morning. It's a nice day. Kinda overcast and there is very little traffic. We are going up to meet our new realtor, Leigh. She is going to show us a few houses and maybe possible places to rent. Our house showed one time the first day it was on the market and 4 times yesterday!!!! We were so excited. Karen, our realtor in Albany, said she heard from someone that showed it yesterday that we may get an offer next week. We are trying not to get our hopes up, but that is encouraging news. We are trusting the Lord in this process so we know all of this will be in His time.

On another note, two of my favorite people are having birthdays tomorrow! :) Hope you have a GREAT birthday Gina and Trish. I love you guys.

Busy Bees

Matt and I have been working hard at getting our house ready to sell. It will officially go on the market tomorrow! :) There is still a little bit of work to be done tonight, but we'll get it done in hopes that someone will want to look at it tomorrow. Please pray with us that the Lord will send the right person or people our way to buy our house quickly!!!

On Friday my parents came down to help. Mom watched Bryan so I could get a few things done and Dad painted our bedroom yellow.

Almost 2 weeks ago we had our shower remodeled. It's by a company called Renu-it. They put some chemicals on the tile and then repainted our old tiles. They also repaired all the broken ones. It looks like a BRAND new shower!

Here's our bathroom before. We had started tearing down the 80's wallpaper when we first moved in 5 years ago, but never got around to finishing it all up.

Saturday and Sunday, Matt and his parents worked long days to remodel our bathroom. Here are some before and after pictures. It is an amazing transformation!!! (Oh, and what was I doing? Not feeling well. I came down with a horrible cold and fever, but am feeling much better now.)
Here they are cutting the first piece.

Here is the bead board before paint...

...and here it is after!

It's a whole new bathroom!!! I just love it and wished we had done it 5 years ago to enjoy it longer. :)
