Please Pray

Steven Curtis Chapman's 5 year old daughter was accidentally killed in their driveway today by her older brother. Click to read the full story.

Here is another link all about sweet Maria.

I have been so sad about this tragic loss. Steven Curtis Chapman's music was played in our home from the time he began his career. (When I was about 8 he came to our church in Louisville, KY and no one had ever heard of him.) I've seen him in concert 5 or 6 times. His songs always touch me.

I feel their loss, also, because Matt and I want to adopt from China in the next few years. The Chapmans founded a wonderful organization called Shaohanna's Hope that helps "prospective adoptive parents overcome the financial barriers associated with adoption." They have a HUGE heart for orphans and adopted three of their own from China. One of them being Maria.

Remember them today and the coming days in your prayers. I can't even begin to imagine how their oldest son feels. It breaks my heart.

It's Time!

Lyndi's water broke about two hours ago. It is now 5:30pm eastern time and she's at the hospital waiting on a room. YAY!

Please pray for her safety and health.
Please pray for Grant's safety and health.
Please pray for the doctors and nurses as they care for both Lyndi and Grant.

Psalm 139:13-17 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!Your workmanship is marvelous--and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can't even count them .

Is this what happens when Mary Kay runs out of Cadillacs?

Mother's Day

Bryan and Matt made my Mother's Day so special :) We woke up early to get ready for church, but before I got up Matt brought me my gift. I got the book "To Live is Christ" by Beth Moore and the sweetest card from Bryan. :) We headed off to church and heard a wonderful message. A man sang a very tear jerking song about moms that blew me away. The song is by Stephen Curtis Chapman, but the man that sang it at church blew him out of the water. :) (Lyrics are at the bottom)

We then had lunch at home and I had a great nap. When I woke up, Matt had cleaned up the whole kitchen. That's one of the best gifts I could ever ask for. haha! For supper we ate at a great bar-b-que place called Jim n' Nicks. Somehow they lost our order so we waited a long time. They were very apologetic and offered us free chocolate pie! How could we pass that up!?

Here are a couple of pictures of me and our little man from yesterday. I'm thankful the Lord gave him to us. Also, Happy Mother's Day to my mom and Matt's mom. We wished we could have been there with you both to celebrate. You were definitely in our thoughts and we're always grateful for you. Hope all of you mother's out there had a great one too!

One Heartbeat at a Time

by Steven Curtis Chapman | from the album This Moment

You're up all night with a screaming baby
You run all day at the speed of life
And every day you feel a little bit less
Like the beautiful woman you are

So you fall into bed when you run out of hours
And you wonder if anything worth doing got done
Oh, maybe you just don't know
Or maybe you've forgotten

You, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time

With every "I know you can do it"
Every tear that you kiss away
So many little things that seem to go unnoticed
They're just like the drops of rain over time
They become a river

And you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
How you're changing the world
You're changing the world

You, you are changing the world
One little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh, you, you may not see it now
But I believe that time will tell
How you, you are changing the world
Oh, I believe that you
You are changing the world
One little heartbeat
At a time

And you're changing the world
