Check Up
Bryan went to the doctor this morning for his 6 month check up. Everything looked great. Dr. Evans was very pleased with his progress. :) He is now 18lbs 13oz. (75th percentile) He's 27 3/4 inches long. (90th percentile) So since 4 months he's gained 1lb 10oz and has grown 1 3/4 inches! He's now turning over from his back to his tummy regularly. We're trying to get a video uploaded so you can see!

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks. He is such a sweet boy! I can't get enough kisses from those sweet cheeks!
Let's see...he is eating cereal twice a day along with a fruit or vegetable in his new highchair. He likes oatmeal better than rice. He also loves peaches and sweet potatoes! :) That first picture of him was a funny funny night. He decided to rip off his bib and stick his hands in his mouth while eating. Then he'd rub his eyes or something. So finally I just gave up and let him be messy. I'm sure it was fun for him! I didn't mind at all. I'm sure there will be a point in time that I will mind. :) He's not sleeping through the night yet. We still get up a couple of times. I'm hoping that will be improving soon!!!!! Just today he has turned over from his back to his tummy several times. Poor Bryan...he still hates that tummy time even though he's really good at it. As you can see in the pictures, he loves his feet and can chew on his toes. We weren't really sure he'd be able to do that at first because he's so chunky around the middle. ha! The last picture is of him in his adorable new hat from Sug on Valentines Day. He looks so handsome!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Bryan!
Our sweet little boy is 6 months old today! Where has the time gone? I guess when you care for a newborn 24/7 the days and months fly by. 6 MONTHS!!! WOW! He goes to the doctor Wednesday for his 6 month check up and immunizations. I'm not looking forward to that. Poor guy! At least he won't have any more for 6 more months. I'll let you know how much he's grown since his last appointment. Stay tuned! :)

The Ultimate Love
John 15:13-Greater love has no one than this, that he lay his life down for his friends.
I've had this scripture on my mind today. Now, that is the ultimate LOVE! I love Matt, but I can never love him like Christ loves me. He loves all of us...our yucky ole sinner selves...so much that He DIED to save us! We definitely need to remember that daily, but what a great reminder on this day of LOVE that Hallmark created!

Pitiful
Our sweet boy who NEVER cries, and i mean NEVER, had his second round of shots today and cried for about 5 minutes and whimpered all the way home. :( He is sacked out now, thank goodness. I just feel so bad for him. 4 needle pokes is not fun...especially when you're already kinda cranky b/c you're tired! Anyway, everything else was great. He's now 17 1/2 pounds and 26 inches. (90th percentile in both) He can start on some solid foods now. Fun!

Merry Christmas?
I'm beginning to think it's not so merry. My grandfather passed away last night after battling heart disease, failing kidneys, and leukemia. Then I find out just moments ago that a very close friend's father passed away this afternoon from the cancer he'd been fighting for a while now. How odd to be thinking of mortality when everyone else is thinking about birth. That's what Christmas is supposed to be about, beginnings. A celebration of the birth of a Savior. Yet somehow it's fitting to consider death in the midst of all the merriment. Jesus was born to die for us, that we may be free. I know beyond a shadow of doubt that my grandfather, C.W. Davidson, and my close friend Ed Wosotowsky are both with Jesus right now, both free from their pain, as the whole world celebrates his birthday.
Remember as you celebrate this joyous season that the baby in a manger grew up to hang on a cross, paying the ultimate price for our sin that we may be free.
Merry Christmas †
